Punta Gorda wildlife control tip of the month: Will Repellents Get a Wild Animal Out of the Chimney?
Wild animals often become unwanted guests in domestic properties. They find their Punta Gorda pest control way into your home and make one of their own in certain areas, depending on the animal and what they prefer. No homeowner wishes for an animal infestation, they would only wish to avoid one at all costs. Wild animals can be extremely destructive, even if not intended. If you have a wild animal infestation you must take care of it immediately.
There are two reasons a wild animal would be in your chimney: they fell, or they are making a home. There are several different Punta Gorda wildlife removal repellents on the market, some claim to target a specific group of animals, others claim to target all animals. The problem is, it does not matter why the wild animal is in your chimney, what type of repellent you use, or what animal is in the chimney. Repellents are not effective no matter how well they are marketed.
There are two types of Punta Gorda animal trapping wild animals that you would be likely to find in your chimney: bats and raccoons. If you chose to use a repellent in attempt to get rid of a bat in your chimney, the act may be considered illegal. Bats are a highly protected species. Being the fact that bats are also known as migratory animals, save yourself from possible trouble and wait for the bat to leave. You can then seal the chimney with a cap, just keep in mind the cap needs to be installed by a professional. It should have holes that are smaller than half an inch to prevent a bats attempt to return. Also, if the chimney is made of brick, you should check mortar for holes and fix them up.
Given a rare Punta Gorda exterminator occasion, and the right type of chimney, a pregnant firstname.lastname@example.org squirrel will move into your chimney in search of a home to nest and give birth. The squirrel will only use a chimney as a home if it is easy enough for them to climb in and out. The nest will be at the top of the chimney and only two to three feet. If the squirrel is in the chimney because it fell, you will be able to tell by the frantic scratching noises it makes during its attempt to get out. If this happens, lower a rope down the chimney and allow the squirrel to climb out. You can then put a cap on the chimney with a one-way door, so the squirrel cannot return.
Whether it may be a raccoon, bat, or squirrel that is in your chimney, Punta Gorda animal control repellents are not an effective way to get them out. Repellents are meant to discourage an animal from getting in and out of a certain place, and they are a waste of money. Consider trying a practical approach, such as trapping, eviction, or exclusion. You can also contact a professional wild animal remover, they will know the best way to hand the problem at hand.
